We are Yolŋu people
Traditional Owners of the Gove Peninsula in North East Arnhem Land. We call this place Miwatj, the land of the first sunrise. Ours is one of the oldest living cultures on Earth.
In 1963 our forefathers presented the Yirrkala Bark Petitions to the Australian Parliament, paving the way for the Aboriginal Land Rights Act and changing the relationship between First Peoples and the Commonwealth forever. That spirit of cultural pride and self-determination still runs through everything we do.
Yanawal Experiences is the tourism arm of Rirratjingu Aboriginal Corporation. We welcome visitors onto saltwater Country for Yolŋu-led adventures shaped by the seasons, cultural obligation, and the wisdom of our Elders. Every booking creates Yolŋu jobs, passes knowledge to the next generation, and funds programs that keep language, song, and tradition alive.
A journey with purpose. The Yanawal way.
